William Scharf (1927-2018)
-
William Scharf in an American abstract painter whose career focused mostly on Color Field and Abstract Expressionism. His works are both bold and expressive utilizing intense colors and pigmentation.
Scharf’s works feel like they have a life of their own, containing an energy that almost literally jumps off the canvas. Scharf’s work continued to be exploratory in the world of abstraction throughout his lifetime.
